Small Group Leader Training

Allan Taylor has spent over 30 years investing and developing small group 
leaders in some of the greatest churches within the SBC. So, leaders from 
the nursery all the way up to senior adults will be greatly encouraged and 
equipped for the wonderful and strategic roles they serve in the local church. 
In addition to Allan’s main sessions there will be a breakout time with 
sessions geared toward specific ages. Continental breakfast will be provided 
at 8:30am, and there will be snacks available throughout the morning.

Church Thanksgiving Dinner

Sunday, November 16th at 4pm

Powhatan High School

Registration for this event has closed-  $5/adult, $3/child (12&under)- $15/family max - Register online or contact the church office- when registering online, please select adult plate or child plate under "Registration Type" drop down box.

We will need donations of turkeys (frozen turkeys: please drop off in church refrigerator on 11/9, if you are dropping off early, please place in church freezer) and pies (fruit, pumpkin or chocolate, please drop off in kitchen, Sunday morning of the event). Red Lane will provide the sides.

We will also need volunteers to help with set up, serving, breakdown and parking. You can let us know if you can serve during this registration process.

The result is a vision for marriage that is refreshingly frank and unsentimental- yet hopeful, beautiful, and relevant for thoughtful believers and non-believers alike. In this six-session video study, Timothy Keller and his wife Kathy discuss practical wisdom for marriage with groups of single and married people. This experience is for anyone from singles, to couples considering marriage, to those who are newly married or who have been married for a long time. Class begins 10/15/25. Meets in room 204.

Christ-centered Parenting, gospel conversations on complex cultural issues

Whether your kids are preschoolers, preteens, or young adults, you need to be prepared to help your children navigate the complex cultural issues of our day. In this 6-session Bible study, Russell Moore and Phillip Bethancourt will help equip you to guide your children through difficult issues such as pornography, identity, homosexuality, abortion, technology, and more from a gospel perspective. This resource is designed to give you an understanding of the current issues, examine them from a biblical framework, and challenge you to lead your family to engage the culture with the gospel of Christ. Class begins 09/03/25. Meets in room 204. $10 per book (couples can purchase and share a book or each purchase their own)
